Case Number 1023: Mandy Ho's brother, Ah Han

The young man’s sister: Mandy Ho (36 years old)

Background of the case:

According to Mandy, her younger brother Ah Han (32 y/o) fainted at home two years ago. After he visited the doctor, it was discovered that the roots of his brain are stuck, causing problems in his nerve lines and make him fainted.Later, he had his first operation on the left brain part. The second operation which is on the right brain part only can be carried out until the left brain part had recovered (He had no stroke at the time and still capable of action).

After the second operation, he was unable to wake up due to bleeding in his brain, so the doctor told them they would have to remove the skull for a third operation, bringing his total to three brain operations.

Ah Han’s parents are 60 years old and unemployed. Currently, his elderly mother cleans his stool, and takes care of his wounds and body. His sister, Mandy approached and asked Hero Medical Charity Society for help on Ah Han’s behalf. Mandy’s economic income is extremely unstable, currently in the field to sell noodles. There is also a 16-year-old son around, but because do not want to let his mother in a very difficult financial situation, he chose to drop out of school to take care of uncle.

Han is currently unable to eat, and he is fed through a nasal tube and proceeding acupuncture treatment. At the moment his family is very difficult, no fixed income, the family’s economic ability continues to decline. The cost of Ah Han’s acupuncture also urgent now, and he needs acupuncture twice a week. Hence, the cost of acupuncture is becoming unaffordable for their family. Other than that, they also have to settle the expenses for Ah Han’s milk powder. Thus, Mandy finally decided to entrust Hero Medical Charity Society (HMCS) to raise the following supplies and expenses from the public:

1）Diapers （RM300 / month）

RM300 x 6 = RM1800

2）Milk Powder（RM300 / month）

RM300 x 6 = RM1800

3）Acupuncture Treatment Fee （RM1600 / month）

RM1600 x 6 = RM9600

4）Living expenses （RM300 / month)

RM300 x 6 = RM1800

4）Wheelchair (RM200 x 1)

RM200 x 1 = RM200

Total: RM17000
