Description
Case 1022:
— Help seeker’s information —
Ms Pung Ah Ching (57 years old, an unemployed lady with kidney disease)
Background of the case:
Ms. Pung and her husband, Mr. Leong Too (70 years old), who live in Kepong, have lost the ability to work due to old age and poor health, and they have no children and family members to help them to solve their difficulties.
Ms Pung is a patient suffering from kidney failure and she needs to have 3 times of kidney dialysis in every week. Furthermore, she also suffers from three-hypers, blurred vision, weakness of her feet and inability to defecate normally. She is indeed a patient with poor health. Thus, we can say that the governmental clinics and the hospitals are her second “home”.
Her husband’s health was also not well. In addition to suffering from intractable asthma, his heart often ached and he was hospitalized frequently. So when we visited their home before, her husband was still in the hospital and not at home.
Usually, if her husband is temporarily not staying in the hospital, he will ride the motorbike with Miss Pung to visit her doctor and treatment. Although they have falled on the road a few times before, they still riding motorbike no matter how far the distance and dangerous because they can save a lot of money and also they don’t own a car. However, if her husband is staying in hospital, Ms Pung will be forced to pay for a Grab car to fetch her to clinics and hospitals. Therefore, they often prefer to ride motorbike as their transportation.
Now, their savings have almost spent, and they can’t afford with their daily expenses, even the diapers for Ms Pung wear due to kidney disease also cannot. Sometimes, Ms. Pung will reuse the diapers if not particularly soiled. Other than that, they can’t afford to pay the house rental right now. Thus, she finally decided to entrust Hero Medical Charity Society (HMCS) to raise the following supplies and living expenses from the public: –
1)House Rental (RM400 /month)
RM400 x 3 = RM1200
2)Utility Bills (RM200/month)
RM200 x 3 = RM600
3)Transportation Expenses (RM150/month)
RM150 × 3 = RM450
4) Meal Expenses (RM400/month)
RM400 x 3 = RM1200
5) Diapers (RM300/month)
RM300 × 3 = RM900
6) Daily Necessities Expenses (RM150/month)
RM150 × 3 = RM450
Total: RM4800
Hope that everyone can lend a hand to help Ms Pung and her husband, so that they can overcome the difficulties of life as soon as possible.
