CASE 1009 : EMILIA CHIN POH EE
Urgent Fundraise Brain Disease
Case No. 1009: A young girl from Johor – Emilia Chin Poh Ee (23y/o) suffers from a congenital brain disease (cerebral arterial malformation) and is in urgent need of physical therapy, acupuncture and other treatments.
Emilia has been taking medication regularly since she was a child to control her condition, but she developed severe headache, urinary incontinence & vomiting on 18 Oct 2021 and faint suddenly on the same night. She has been sent to the hospital immediately.
After several check up, the doctor suggested that Emilia should undergo brain surgery immediately and remove the congestion in her head. Brain surgery is one of the most risky operations, but the family has no choice, they just hope Emilia to get better. Unfortunately, this surgery has brought great changes in Emilia’s life. She found that her lower body was paralyzed, and she even lost the ability to speak when she awake after the surgery.
At this beautiful age, she was bedridden for a long time due to illness, and suffered physical & mental pain. Emilia could only respond by shaking or nodding her head when our volunteers talking to her. Since becoming paralyzed, Emilia has required weekly acupuncture and physical therapy to stimulate muscles & nerves. There are also a lot of sequelae left after the surgery, she can’t even eat independently and needs to drink nutrition formula milk.
All expenses of the family including Emilia’s medical cost is bearing by her mother, and the father had took the responsibility to take care of Emilia full-time. The cost of surgery and treatment for a whole year almost wiped out all the savings of her parents, and the following medical expenses also made Emilia’s parents feel helpless. Therefore, they hereby entrust Hero Medical & Charity Society to raise the funds.

紧急众筹 少女脑部治疗费
众筹编号1009 来自柔佛州的女孩 – 陈葆颐Emilia Chin Poh Ee（23岁）患有先天性脑部疾病（脑动脉畸形），急需进行物理治疗、针灸等疗程。
Emilia自小就需要定时服用药物控制病情，但就在去年10月18日她出现剧烈头痛、尿失禁和呕吐的症状，并于同日夜里突然昏倒，友人发现后立即将其送入医院急救。
经过一系列的检查后，医生建议马上为Emilia进行脑部手术并清除头颅内淤血。头部手术是极具风险的手术之一，但家属也别无选择，只求Emilia能好起来。但很遗憾地，这场手术为Emilia的人生带来了巨变。术后她恢复意识时竟发现其下半身严重瘫痪，连说话的能力也一并失去了。
花一样的年纪，却因病长期卧床，承受着身心的痛苦。义工们进行家访时，Emilia也只能靠摇头或点头来表达。自从瘫痪以后Emilia需要每星期进行针灸和物理治疗来刺激肌肉和神经。双手乏力亦是手术带来的后遗症，为此她无法自主进食,需要喝配方奶粉来补充营养。
目前妈妈是家里的唯一经济支柱,爸爸则全职照顾Emilia。手术和一整年下来的治疗费用几乎掏空了家里的所有存款,而接下来的医疗开销也令Emilia的父母感到非常无助，特此委托Hero Medical & Charity Society英雄医疗慈善协会向大众筹募。
风华正茂的女孩经历如此，实属是一场悲剧。但愿她能得到大家的一臂之力，继续接受治疗以扭转如今的病情，恢复健康 赠人玫瑰，手留余香。
